Nazca Lines - A Tale of Water?
"The highest excellence is like (that of) water. The excellence of water appears in its benefiting all things, and in its occupying, without striving (to the contrary), the low place which all men dislike. Hence (its way) is near to (that of) the Tao."
Tao Te Ching
I like water. Seas, lakes, rain, cloud, ice, in a bottle. It's used and enjoyed by humans in all three states of matter. What more could you ask for from a fundamental component required for the existence of all life forms. Scientists think that much of the water in the universe is created as a by-product of star births. You can't say that about many things. But what's water got to do with the Nazcans? Well a lot I think.
Call me simple, but to understand the Lines, we need to understand the people who were inspired enough to create their timeless Guggenheim on Mother Nature's gift of a massive natural canvass. They must have had something they wanted to get off their chest to go to such creative and inspired lengths. So who were these ancient artists?
